Staff

Lead Teachers have a Bachelors, and/or Master’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Our Teachers have an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood education and/or Director qualified. Our entire staff meets or exceeds the Department of Children and Family Services requirement of two years of college and six hours in child development courses.  All Staff are required to be CPR & First Aid Certified, cleared background check, and complete 24 clock hours of training including Health and Safety during the first year of employment. We have two regular extra staff members to substitute teachers in deployment for different activities. Parents are welcomed to attend staff monthly program planning meetings. All employees of the center are state mandated reporters.  Our primary responsibility is to provide a safe environment for the children entrusted to our care. We have adopted center policies and DCFS has set guidelines to ensure that children are safe. 

Volunteers & Interns

Once Upon A Time is the intern site for Rasmussen College, Early Childhood Education program. Interns whose duties require contact with children on a regular basis of one or more times per month shall meet the same personnel qualifications required by other staff.  Interns may serve in the capacity they are qualified.
