Daily Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures

Steps for Drop-off
 
In order to protect staff while conducting temperature screenings, we will wear a mask and use a non-contact thermometer.
 
Children ages 2 years and up, when tolerable, shall wear a face mask when arriving at and leaving the day care center, when in hallways, and throughout the day, except when napping, playing outdoors, or eating;  
 
One person will be allowed to drop off and pick-up, but will not be permitted access to the classroom; Administration will be met at the entrance.
 
Parents, legal guardians, or authorized persons shall wear a face mask when dropping off and picking up their children from the day care center; and 
 
Parents, legal guardians, or persons authorized for dropping off or picking up children from day care and staff shall not engage in hand shaking or physical contact.  
 
Step 1. Daily temperature check by Staff will be conducted and recorded for child and parent, legal guardian, or person bringing a child to day care upon arrival at the day care center.  Individuals with a temperature of 100.4º F or higher, shall be excluded. 
 
 
Step 2. The following questions are to be asked by staff:
A. Have you traveled to an area where there is a confirmed COVID-19 case? If yes, where?
B. Are you/children experiencing any of these symptoms; coughing, runny nose, shortness of breath, fever of 100 or higher? 
 
Visual inspection of child for signs of illness, including flushed cheeks, rapid breathing, fatigue, or fussiness.
 
Step 3. Staff will change child into a pair of “school shoes” that should be stored in the Center for daily wear. Homes shoes will be placed a in labeled clear bin in front of the child’s classroom.
 
Step 4. Staff takes child to wash hands using CDC recommended hand washing procedures throughout the day using warm running water and rubbing with soap for at least 20 seconds.
 
New Pick-Up Procedure


Step 1. Call the center prior to pick-up.
 
Step 2. Staff will remove school shoes, put on home shoes and bring child/children outside to the parent. It is recommended family wear masks.
 
Step 3. Staff will sign your child out.
